May is Mental Health Month!
Mental Health Awareness Month Tool Kit:
As we step into Mental Health Awareness Month this May, our community is coming together to discuss mental well-being and take action. This year’s theme is Turn Awareness into Action, and we are making it easier than ever for your organization to get involved by providing ready-to-use tools and assets to inspire action. In partnership with Great Rivers United Ways, the La Crosse Area Family YMCA and La Crosse County Health and Human Services, we are thrilled to share materials and events to celebrate the entire month. Awareness is important, but real change happens when we translate that awareness into daily habits that support our mental health.
This May, we’re focusing on four essential actions we can all take to prioritize our mental well-being:
Getting Quality Sleep – Restorative sleep is essential for emotional balance, focus, and overall well-being. Commit to healthier sleep routines.
Connecting with Others – Strong social connections improve resilience, reduce stress, and foster a sense of belonging. Reach out, listen, and support one another.
Getting Outdoors – Time in nature boosts mood, reduces anxiety, and enhances mental clarity. Step outside, breathe deeply, and soak in the natural world’s benefits.
Being Present – Being present helps us manage stress and find joy in the moment. Whether it’s deep breathing, meditation, or simple reflection, mindfulness strengthens our mental resilience.
Click here to access our ready-to-use assets that you can use with your teams and networks. Each topic has social media posts, an infographic, and a challenge you can utilize throughout the Month.
- Social media posts to spread awareness and encourage engagement
- Challenge ideas to inspire action and build healthy habits
- Infographics and worksheets to help integrate these four actions into daily life
- May Calendar with mental well-being activities and local events throughout the month
Let’s turn awareness into action together. Every small step counts; together, we can create a community prioritizing mental well-being.
Wishing you a month of growth, reflection, and positive actions for mental health!
